A San Diego man wins $1.6m playing penny slot at California Hotel

A California man has won more than $1.6 million after playing a penny slot at at Valley View Casino & Hotel in Valley Center.

The San Diego man, simply identified as Robert S, was reportedly playing the IGT Wheel of Fortune Ultra-Wheels penny slot when he hit the jackport, according to the casino management at Valley View Casino & Hotel.

In his post-winning interview, Robert said:

“I’m still in shock. I couldn’t sleep for two days. I was up tossing and turning and thought they would call me and say the machine malfunctioned.”

Robert also added that he’s been going to Valley View Casino & Hotel for about five years but never imagined his slot-playing would turn him into a millionaire.

Robert’s win comes just weeks before Valley View Casino & Hotels plans to open its $50 million bingo and casino expansion in San Diego.

As reported by NBC San Diego, the venue is home to a spacious restaurant, a 3,300-gallon saltwater aquarium, bars, and weekly live entertainment.

Randy Reedy, the Valley View Casino & Hotels vice president of gaming operations for the casino, said it’s exciting to see one of their customers win big which will further attract more players for the Hotels.

He said, as quoted via NBC San Diego:

“It’s an amazing experience when luck strikes.”
